Ok, this is probably a stupid question I just bought a mess of pistachio's because the co-op near me in Olympia has a good price on them. I could eat pistachio's all day and never get sick of them, but I feel like the shells will take FOREVER to break down in my compost bin.

We are looking at the house and I noticed that the owner was feeding pistachios to his dog. Thought nothing of it. We bought the house, moved in in January and when the snow finally melted in April or May, there were piles of pistachio shells scattered all over the yard. By then, nothing else, just shells.
